Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero grew up in Mexico City and mastered their acoustic flamenco-metal guitar style—part Paco de Lucia, part Jimmy Page—while busking in Ireland. Rodrigo y Gabriela play fleet-fingered and briskly chorded instrumental duets punctuated percussively by hands on hollow-bodies. And while instrumentals like the reggae-tinged 'Tamacun' and Django-jazzy 'Ixtaba' convey pure Mexican magic, cover versions of Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven' and Metallica's 'Orion' tap into universal head-banging truths.
